I recently spent Christmas at Hotel Schmidt in the stunning Upper Franconian town of Selb, and I have to say, it was a delightful retreat for a landscape photographer like me! The friendly staff were amazing, addressing our every request with a smile, and I appreciated the breakfast being tailored to our personal preferences-it felt so personalized and special. The hotel exudes a charming old-world style with beautiful, carefully placed decorations that create such a warm and welcoming atmosphere. I loved the rustic vibe of the two on-site restaurants, which was perfect for cozying up after a day spent exploring the breathtaking Fichtel Mountains and nearby skiing opportunities at Hausberg. With the main train station just a short five-minute walk away, it was super easy for my friends and I to venture out into the picturesque landscapes and capture stunning photographs of the countryside! Hotel Schmidt not only served as a fantastic base for our adventures but also allowed us to unwind completely in this serene setting. I left feeling inspired and refreshed-exactly what I needed!
